I'd expect a 5-10% with this uplift if the tower hasn't seen any maintenance before. That being said, this thing is basically end of life. I can't recommend anything below 8th gen intel these days

But l4d2 is much older than most users here and it performs poorly with this setup

I noticed you mentioned L4D2 instead of RDR2. It looks like the processor might be overheated. Make sure the RAM is operating at maximum capacity.

paste was dry, so I swapped in gpu and cpu paste with ptm7950. Now it feels more relaxed. In l4d2 the clocks settled at 300mhz, voltage and wattage dropped, GPU usage hit zero, and it would stutter before coming back after about 15 seconds.
