I suffer from severe stuttering issues and crashes while running Minecraft Forge 1.8.9. On other versions like 1.17 or Lunar Client 1.8.9, I experience no such problems. It seems the problem might relate to the Java version (JVM/executable) being used. I recall that with 32-bit Java it performed much better than 64-bit, and pressing F3 reveals I'm using Java 1.8 64-Bit. I have removed every 64-bit Java version from my computer using the Java removal tool, yet Minecraft still detects a 64-bit Java environment. I also know that the Launcher allows selecting different Java executables, and I wondered if using the one Lunar Client employs—such as Zulu Platform x64 Arch—might help since it appears to be a more recent version.

It seems to be leveraging its own Java implementation
They might have included it with the product packaging
