Hey, I recently got a used RX 5700 XT and it’s been performing great for me. I can handle most games at high to ultra settings while keeping 90+ FPS. But with Fortnite on the lowest settings, even after tweaking Windows 11, reinstalling drivers with DDU, overclocking the GPU (which isn’t recommended given my ASUS TUF card’s lack of VRAM cooling), and using the integrated graphics, I still see only 90–140 FPS. The best I’ve managed is around 40–60 FPS at the lowest levels. I’ve also experimented with running it on the iGPU of my R7 5700G, which surprisingly boosted my FPS by nearly double. Any tips would be appreciated! My rig runs Windows 10 Pro, ASRock B550-HDV, Kingston Fury 2x8, 3200MHz, Ryzen 7 5700G, with DeepCool PF650, 80+ and XMP enabled.

Check if the connected GPU is active and report its temperatures. Verify the Fortnite version being used. Confirm whether the integrated GPU is consuming memory while you run your dedicated GPU. Attempted to turn off the integrated GPU.

temps are mostly fine, a little hot since my case is crammed but it should be alright, 45 - 50 idle, 82 under full load, but that's to be expected when my VRAM has like no proper cooling (thanks ASUS) and the BIOS is the latest, atleast the latest ASRock gave me.

AMD Adrenalin didn't work well with my 5700 XT unless I turned off the integrated graphics. I clearly explained how both GPUs were used, chose DP instead of HDMI, and used the dedicated GPU because my motherboard only supports HDMI. AMD FreeSync Premium didn't function on HDMI. I tried playing Fortnite in DX11 with Perf Mode, but storage was limited and the game temperatures were a bit high. I don’t have enough space for DX12, though it shouldn’t be too much. Running games that are at least four times heavier, like RDR2 on ultra/high settings, would help. The issue wasn’t RAM—I dedicated 2GB in BIOS, leaving plenty for Windows and other tasks. I saw 8GB machines run fine, so I’m not worried about RAM limits. Updated July 20, 2024 by TehRedd
