Poor initial performance issues
Approximately five months ago I installed a new SSD (WD Blue SA510 SATA) and everything worked perfectly. Over the last three weeks my computer has been struggling. When I power it on, it boots quickly but once I reach the desktop it becomes unresponsive. All functions run sluggishly—applications freeze, Firefox lags, programs crash during startup, and even basic commands like clicking the Windows icon or pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del take a long time. I’ve tried checking Task Manager, running malware scans, using MemTest86, updating drivers and Windows updates. After about 30 minutes it seems to function normally. A video is attached showing the issue. I suspect I may have selected a faulty drive, which could explain the problems. Any suggestions? My system specs are: B450 A-pro Ryzen 5800x, EVGA Supernova platinum 850 P6, 16GB RAM, 3200MHz DDR4, Corsair Vengeance 970 EVO 500GB M.2, WD Blue SA510 SATA, Crucial MX500 2TB. Let me know if you need anything else.
Interestingly, you chose to set up Windows on the SATA storage even though you possess a faster NVMe device.
