Poor graphic performance in Grand Theft Auto V
While enjoying Grand Theft Auto V, I observed that my graphics card’s resource consumption was lower than anticipated compared to similar system configurations. My central processing unit is an overclocked FX 6300 running at 3.8 Gigahertz, and I attempted to increase its speed to 4.1 Gigahertz, but this proved unsuccessful. Occasionally, I achieve frame rates around 40 during gameplay, coinciding with CPU utilization peaking between 60 and 80 percent. It’s possible that thermal limitations are at play. My graphics card reaches a temperature of 80 degrees Celsius, while my processor tops out at 63 degrees. Please forgive any imperfections in my English.
My hardware specifications are as follows:
Asus m5a78l-m lx/br motherboard
AMD FX 6300 (3.8Ghz) Black Edition processor
1x2GB Corsair XMS3 1600mhz memory
1x4GB Kingston KVR1333G3N9/4G (1600mhz OC) memory
Gigabyte GTX 750 TI 2GB (overclocked by +200 MHz core and +300 MHz memory)
Two hard drives configured in RAID 0
One hard drive installed alone
The processor’s temperature is exceeding acceptable limits. When your central processing unit reaches 63 degrees Celsius, you likely are encountering performance slowdown due to thermal regulation. Reducing your overclocking settings and potentially adjusting the voltage could help. A GPU temperature of 80 degrees Celsius is somewhat warm, though it generally shouldn’t cause throttling—it usually stays around 85 degrees Celsius or higher. However, implementing a more aggressive fan profile using software like MSI Afterburner might be beneficial.
I appreciate your input. I plan to lower the CPU’s frequency and power supply. Should my processor be operating at 1.365 volts?
Based on my research, the maximum safe voltage is 1.5 volts; however, this may vary based on cooling performance. I would likely utilize a maximum of 1.4 volts with air cooling and 1.5 volts with an All-in-One liquid cooler.
