Poor gaming performance
I own a vega 56 paired with an i5 8400. I'm experiencing issues with metro exodus, battlefield 5, and the outer worlds. On these titles, my graphics card and CPU consistently struggle to maintain a steady 60 fps. The frame drops typically begin around 45 seconds into gameplay.
Do you possess 16GB of memory?
Are your storage devices quite outdated?
Have you attempted to reinstall Windows before?
Is the system experiencing excessive heat?
I have a 16gb storage on an SSD, and the GPU performance is at 70% CPU usage with a 50% utilization rate.
Likely just the drivers are the issue, unless a new Windows version helps—I really don’t know. The PSU is the only remaining part. It’s best to keep Windows in a small 120-150GB partition for easy reinstallation later. You could also create a Linux USB drive and run Steam under Ubuntu on it if you have enough space, or even skip installing Linux altogether.
The gameplay displays no problems at all. You're consistently experiencing a locked 60 fps throughout the entire video.
These monitors are designed to take your experience past 60 fps, making any noticeable drops less obvious. Your system is more than ready, even when using 1440p resolution.
