I own a 2070 super and a Ryzen 5 3600. My system has 32 GB RAM at 3200 MHz, and I consistently achieve 70-120 fps in games. I've tested every low setting and high setting, adjusted all options including windowed modes, but the performance remains unstable. It's very choppy, fluctuating often and sometimes dropping to 50 fps when I look around. The computer also lags when I press the alt key in certain windowed settings.

I've never encountered a game that stays perfectly steady without wild frame changes, except in fighting games. That's why Vsync was created. Many titles offer a rate-locking feature without Vsync, but if that doesn't work, you're stuck. For instance, when I played Warzone, it ran fine at first but kept fluctuating between about 180 and 110 frames per second, often causing screen tearing and a choppy experience. After tweaking settings, locking it at 120fps eliminated the tearing (since my monitor runs at 60Hz) and stabilized the frame rate. It rarely dropped below 110, except occasionally to 118 or 117fps, but it never felt stuttery. This suggests a trade-off between smoothness and peak performance—unless you have a G-Sync display, which is probably not common.

It appears many users share similar outcomes and have observed significant improvements by restricting the game to four specific CPU cores. Others have noted that turning off full screen for the .exe files has greatly enhanced performance.

You're experiencing an issue where your G-sync monitor doesn't respond despite enabling VSync. It might be related to driver conflicts or hardware settings. Try checking the display settings on your computer and ensure VSync is properly configured. If the problem persists, consult your monitor's manual or contact support.

I've attempted optimization but it didn't succeed; swapping cores had no effect.

as far as the cpu goes, in worst case scenarios in game with util spam and astra/viper walls, the 3600 should only drop you to 120fps. I think part of the issue its worse for you is the 3200mhz ram since there is a significant performance difference between 3200mhz and 3600mhz ram for ryzen 3000s. However that being said i dont think you should still be dropping to 50fps so something else may be interfering whether that be an actual hardware problem or something like programs running in the back. Also stick to full screen and dont do the disable fullscreen optimization thing like that other guy said, doesnt help in this game.

Do you have all your drivers fully updated? It really helps, so I’d consider using GeForce Experience for this. Generally, giving your PC a reset can clarify if the issue continues. Also, it’s wise to clear out files, inspect background processes via Task Manager, verify driver updates, ensure storage isn’t too full, and if things still don’t work, reset your computer.
