Poor frame rate in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive despite a capable computer.
Poor frame rate in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive despite a capable computer.
My system specifications are as follows: AMD Threadripper 2920X processor, AMD Radeon Fury graphics card, 16GB DDR4 RAM at 4000MHz speed, a solid-state drive, and all games configured with low settings. My drivers, BIOS, and firmware are the latest versions, along with effective cooling solutions. Despite researching numerous guides and utilizing all available launch options for CS:GO, I haven’t been able to consistently maintain a stable frame rate above 240. Any assistance would be greatly valued. Thank you.
I am not sure to honest. If any thing is unbalanced I would assume you would be referring to the Gpu. If you could enlighten me some more of what you mean that would be great. Please forgive me ahead of time because this is only my second computer build, with that said I did not use any guide for the build. My best guess to what could be the problem is the Gpu but by no means am I a guru. I would like to have more information if any of what could be the problem. I know the Gpu is clocked at max 1050Mhz. like I said my best guess is the Gpu but I would imagine that it should be able to run a simple game like csgo at 500 or more stable fps. Hell I cant get a stable 240 fps to be effective. It will run at best 150 then have massive drops. I have googled for hours, tried just about everything without any success.
What was the price you paid for your graphics card, and do you feel it’s excessively expensive considering its performance?
Could you tell me your typical frames per second?
Although your hardware setup appears sound, I believe the problem lies with your central processing unit. A Threadripper processor isn't optimally suited for gaming, and a game like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive may not be able to fully leverage all of its cores and threads in a productive manner, unlike a processor such as the 9600K, which offers superior performance on an individual core.
My typical frame rate during a test run is approximately 240 frames per second. I suspect this indicates a system update is necessary. Considering the $700 investment, I anticipate conducting further investigation before making future purchases. Initial reviews suggested it excelled at both streaming and gaming, but it appears that assessment was inaccurate.
