Poor encounter with MFG in Cyberpunk 2077
After monitoring stock levels for a while, I finally secured an RTX 5090 AMP. Right away, I started playing Cyberpunk 2077 to see NVIDIA’s advertised performance boost. At first, the upgrade from my 3080 impressed me. With MFG at 4x and all settings cranked, I managed 4K playback at full refresh (165Hz). But during gameplay, small stutters appeared—especially when speeding up, making scene transitions more noticeable. Oddly, my frame rate stayed steady. The issue vanished only when I reduced frame generation to 2x, achieving a smooth 120Hz run. Now I’m questioning whether the problem lies in the game, the drivers, or if MFG is simply not suited for this setup.
Turn off the NVIDIA overlay. If micro-stutters persist, try disabling Freesync or G-Sync. This should resolve the problem.
