Poor connection, high latency detected in Fortnite.
I've been enjoying this game for about a month without any ping problems. A week back I faced significant lag during a match and suspected a ping issue, so I enabled the ping overlay. At that time it was over 300 ms, though I wasn't sure how high it had gotten before. I considered it might be a short-term problem. Throughout the week I've been aiming for 200-350 ms ping, and recently my speedtest showed only 30 ms. I live in India and use a solid gaming PC connected via Ethernet. I chose servers automatically, which usually picks the nearest server (often Asia for me). I've also filed a complaint with Epic Games, but they haven't replied yet. If anyone has insights on what's causing this or how to resolve it, please let me know.
You can't fix ping. Ping is calculated by how far away you are from the game server. The only way to fix it is to move closer to the server or wait for a server to be near you.
Ping also relies on your internet connection. Verify your speed. Many websites can measure it. What is your download rate?
Only noticed the 12. It seems you might have a weak connection. Contact your ISP—12/20 isn't reliable, about 50%.
Do you think the connection relies on download speed? My speed was 30 on that site, but in Fortnite it's over 300.
