Hello everyone, I'm facing an unusual problem I've never encountered before. My system specs are: 13900KF Asus Z690 with WiFi, D4 32GB DDR4, 3600/4090, Thermaltake PF3 1200W. I've been using this setup for over a year without any major issues. Recently, while playing DRG: Survivor, I noticed frequent interruptions—sudden drops in sound and frame rate every few seconds. This issue appears across all games I play. During a session of 7 Days to Die with MSI Afterburner open, I observed the following. I've tried several fixes: reinstalling the latest Nvidia drivers via DDU, updating BIOS to the newest version, clearing CMOS, and testing the PSU with a multimeter. No problems detected. I also switched to a different 12V HPWR cable without any improvement. I plan to perform a clean Windows install later today to eliminate driver conflicts. Since my setup is custom watercooled, it's a bit tricky to test components easily. Any suggestions on how to narrow down the cause would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This suggests your CPU might be struggling, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's completely failed. Reducing its power usage could help if it's overheating or underperforming.

Well, it certainly means that it can't reliably run at full power. Are you still covered by return or RMA warranty in case of defects ? I'd check in case you are still eligible. Lastly, does the 60W limit reduce performance significantly ? If no, you may opt to simply do nothing.

It reaches about 4.8GHz. The processor was just under a year old, so I’m planning to pass it on to a friend for installation and check if they experience the same issues.
