It seems your TP-Link device might not be working properly. You may want to try a different model, such as the HP MSM422 available on eBay. For power over Ethernet connections, you'll likely need a proper POE adapter. You could also ask a friend or neighbor if they have one.

A WiFi repeater links to a router and devices using the same channel. This limits your wireless equipment to just half the available bandwidth, causing reduced speed. Consider installing a dedicated wireless access point.

AP and extender refer to different concepts. For a VR300 in bridge mode, use your DSL modem/gateway instead. The Ethernet uplink from the VR300 to the C6 should go through the WAN port. A detailed flow diagram would clarify everything.

Checked that the router and AP operate on separate WiFi channels without overlap. Verified the channel width is set for 5GHz. Tested a WiFi scanning app to identify any nearby signals on the same channels.

They both employ distinct channels with width configured automatically. I ran a Wi-Fi analyzer to assess the environment, and interference remains low. The issue continues even after disabling the other router's Wi-Fi.

It's strange how slow the 2.4GHz connection is, even close to the router. Latency during downloads and uploads is unusually high. What might be causing this? If it's a configuration issue or hardware problem, I'd appreciate suggestions for upgrading our setup if needed. Currently we have three access points, but they barely cover the area. I'm considering a mesh system, though it would require a wired backhaul (our walls are solid) and support for PPPoE with VLAN ID on the router. I don't want to switch to another brand like TP-Link after this experience. Any thoughts? Regarding the ASUS ZenWiFi XD4, I saw a 3-pack for €247 on Amazon Germany—cheapest in my region (around €330 in CZ). Or another model might be better?
