I possess an Acer Nitro AN515-51 with serial number NHQ2QAA01173306EAA3400. I’m unsure what occurred, but suddenly I can’t boot Windows no matter what I do. Attempts at system restore, repair, and startup fixes didn’t help. Even reinstalling via USB failed, and I can’t install on my SSD. The machine has an M.2 512GB slot, but I don’t have another one. I keep seeing the blue screen with a stop code and registry error message. I tried using CMD to load the default command prompt, but I never created one. It just loops endlessly. I just want to reinstall Windows. Edited August 4, 2019 by benten20101993

You seem confused about installing Windows on your SSD. Perhaps you'd prefer using Linux instead. If neither option works, it might be due to incorrect installation settings or a failing SSD, though the latter seems unlikely given the device's recent purchase.

I start using the USB Windows ISO, it allows me to tap next after choosing the language. I select install now, then choose custom install, set format disk 0, partition 4 as primary, and a window appears warning me that it couldn't format the selected partition (error 0x80042428).

you don't have the recovery disc or flash drive with the laptop? unclear if this matters but is your hdd encrypted? i’ve noticed some windows updates fail when hdds are encrypted, so reinstalling might help. why skip the recovery and format all three partitions except the recovery one? windows should rebuild them. since those already exist, it can’t recreate them again.

When you set up Windows 10 on your main storage, remove all partitions and reinstall the OS often. Once done, enter your activation code (usually under a laptop case), by pressing "Win + R" and typing "slui 3". Link your product using the ID from when you bought it; this will generate recovery files and drivers. If your system doesn’t start properly, try:
a) Run the activation troubleshooter in Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshooting.
b) Reach out to your OEM or Microsoft support for updates matching your new hardware.

Now that you've watched the video, it seems there could be a drive issue. You might want to restart and access Windows Recovery Options, then use CMD to erase the drive.
