Hello everyone, I'm dealing with an unusual problem here. Let me simplify. Picture yourself using Plex, with your mouse positioned in an empty area of the interface. When you move it, it responds like it would anywhere else. However, once your mouse touches any part of the UI, the frame rate drops sharply to around 15 frames per second for a few seconds after you last interacted. Essentially, because Plex runs at that low frame rate constantly, every mouse interaction causes a noticeable slowdown. Interestingly, this happens whether or not you're interacting with anything on the screen—even scrolling does the same thing. Fun fact: I tried recording a video for you using ShareX to help illustrate, and the issue vanished completely. It's frustrating, but I'm trying to figure out how to fix it without recording nonstop. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks in advance!
There may be an issue depending on the operating system—Windows or Linux. Are you using a client or a browser? You could try recording with your phone for help. It’s possible the logs could clarify the problem.
Windows, client (Plex for Windows). I plan to record a video and view the logs. I didn’t realize this might be a Plex issue since similar problems appear in Adobe PS and Premiere Pro now that I think about it (though much more frequent). This could help identify the problem. Based on your friend's suggestion, I unplugged G-Sync and tried again with Plex, Photoshop, etc. The problem disappeared. Now I’m unsure how to proceed since I can’t turn it off anymore.
It looks like the problem was resolved by using the Nvidia Control Panel, adjusting settings in the 3D tab, and modifying the monitor technology options. Then you installed the Nvidia Profile Inspector, configured it to ignore G-Sync, and set the refresh rate accordingly. This should work without affecting other applications.
