Hello, welcome. Please note this might not be the right spot, but I’m facing a problem with Plex on my new Linux VM running the latest Ubuntu and Plex updates. After loading a lot of files, I encounter the error “conversion failed. The transcoded crashed or failed to load.” I’ve tried reinstalling Plex, cleaning up, adjusting settings, and toggling hardware acceleration, but I’m not sure if I should start over. My media collection is large and re-indexing would be disruptive. If anyone who has dealt with this issue before knows how to fix it, please share your approach! Thank you.
It depends on whether the content spans multiple files. If it’s confined to a single file, you can proceed directly; otherwise, you’ll need to reorganize and reindex everything. Doing this before is tough, but it’s manageable.
