Hello, I purchased a used Omen obelisk 875 PC and am experiencing frequent connection drops every 30-40 seconds, regardless of signal strength. I've checked the issue with a ping test to 8.8.8.8 and would appreciate assistance in diagnosing the problem. Thank you in advance for your help.

Google DNS server is suitable for testing ISP issues, but it’s unclear why the ping didn’t reach the router. If an Ethernet cable is blocked, that would prevent connectivity.

There seems to be significant delay somewhere between your device and the Google DNS server. It might help to run a test only with items inside your home to confirm everything is under your control. Tracert could provide insight into the issue by showing the path data takes. The problem could be related to a change in routing that redirects traffic unexpectedly.

For such tests, always check the router. Use a second command to ping outside Google, for instance. This helps determine whether the issue lies within or outside your network. If it’s inside, consider replacing the WiFi adapter and returning it if necessary.

Hi, thanks for the update. I didn’t realize I had the same issue with the phone hotspot. The router seems to be the problem now. I’ll try testing the connection with another device to confirm.
