During the installation process I was using XP pro on various high-end processors including Pentium III 733 MHz, later Pentium 4 2.0 GHZ and Athlon 64 3200+. My work schedule ran from 18:00 to 21:00, allowing me to reinstall five machines in one evening with ample time for testing and play. The key was having the installation CDs and Windows disk ready at hand. Alongside Windows, I installed Office 2000 pro such as Paint Shop Pro, Print Master, Sygate Firewall, and a few others I didn’t remember. Downloading anything was challenging due to slow internet speeds, but back then it wasn’t necessary for software installations. I understand not all systems were the same, yet optimizing machines for speed was straightforward.
