I have a laptop with a 1060 max q. It used to run at 1300 clock speed before throttling, so I tried undervolting with MSI Afterburner. Some things went wrong. I factory reset the whole laptop, but now the clock speeds are very slow—showing 600 and 450, and it’s showing 0 volts. Is there any way to get it back to the GPU default speed? Please help me, I'm 13.

Restart the system and reinstall the newest GPU driver from Nvidia. A PC factory reset might not undo the changes made to the GPU BIOS (which you likely did).

What measurement program are you employing? Have you experienced reduced performance in games? When at 0 volts, your PC likely wouldn’t be showing anything. Try running a game to check for slower speeds. If you performed a factory reset, your underclocking might not have been retained. Also, it will shut down automatically whenever you actually turn off the afterburner.

My GPU clock speeds dropped more than half. Game performance is poor, and I can't shut it down. I've tried disabling all background processes but it still runs. If my FPS drops significantly, my clocks are slower than 50 percent. When the MSI afterburner isn't running, my laptop struggles with games. During a stress test I was undervolting, but now I can't do that. It causes stuttering and lagging. My idle clocks range from 139MHz to 607 and 405MHz. On MSI afterburner for V-Box and temperatures it shows zero. The stress test reports 0% load in the task manager, with GPU load at 100 and GPU1 at 0 load.

Image of clocks running at idle matches full load
Image of task manager displaying GPU at 100% usage and GPU1 at 0% load

I accessed the control panel and uninstalled GeForce Experience. No other drivers appeared. I visited the GeForce website and installed the newest driver, but the issue persists.

I remained calm but the main problem was the temperature stayed high, so I attempted to lower the CPU voltage with throttle stop and Intel utility extreme software, but then things began to fail.

Intel's utility accesses the BIOS and stores configurations on hard drive sections. MSI Afterburner doesn't seem to function with APUs. Even though it's an authorized Intel product, its extreme settings occasionally misinterpret your system and cause errors.

Confirm if your system is actively using the 1060 or if it's relying on the CPU's igpu, observing only idle card performance.
