Hey, I understand you're in the right place, but Linux Gaming isn't quite meeting your needs for VR gaming with the GTX 1050. While everything looks fine on Linux Mint, you're finding it doesn’t deliver the same performance as Windows. You're planning to run benchmarks to see how Linux compares, and you're looking for advice from others who might have similar experiences. Let me know if you'd like tips on setting up or optimizing your setup! Thanks.

Check the NVIDIA preferences to ensure apps recognize the GPU. Explore Mint’s driver management options for adjustments.

I checked the NVIDIA Xserver settings and made sure the GPU is set to performance mode. However, when I ran the Steam Performance Test, it only detected the integrated GPU. That’s why I’m a bit puzzled.

Typically I avoid suggesting it, but if you attempt changing to an open source driver for the NVIDIA or another one for the IGPU…

I checked further and found the newest NVIDIA driver. My GPU is set to performance mode, and power management is also in that setting. Despite that, VR games still treat it as an IGPU.
