Playing video at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second on an i5-4590 processor.
I have an I5-4590 with 8GB RAM and a GTX 1060 with 6GB, aiming to stream on Twitch at 1060p60 or 720p60 with decent quality that matches its resolution. I tried GeForce Experience's built-in recording tool, but it didn’t perform well, so I’m seeking advice. In the video I shared, it felt laggy and the quality was poor even at 720p60. I used a bitrate of 35000. If you need to adjust your CPU, RAM, or GPU settings, let me know and I’ll help.
All your details aren’t ideal for streaming. You have an i5 without hyper-threading, which won’t be expensive to find a used i7 4770/4770k/4790/4790k or a similar xeon model. With only 8GB of RAM, you’d probably trade in your current setup and move to a newer platform like AM4 or Alder Lake.
Thanks for the idea, but it would add a lot more than I thought I was ready for. In my country, 1$ is about 5 RON, so it’s not very affordable. I can get a CPU, but not RAM yet, so I’ll have to decide on that first. If you’re curious, hyperthreading is when a processor can handle multiple threads at once, improving performance on certain tasks.
