Playing the game on a WiFi hotspot?
Playing the game on a WiFi hotspot?
I’m preparing a multiplayer game for you and your friends during your school trip. The main challenge is ensuring smooth play with Unity and UNet, but UNet only supports WiFi—not Bluetooth. This means your friend’s device can’t connect via Bluetooth, which might affect their experience.
Your setup involves you as the host (and also a player) and your friend as a client. When you create a Wi-Fi hotspot, you won’t be able to connect to other networks, including cellular ones. The key question is whether hosting the hotspot means you’re also connected to it, and if so, whether both of you can join the same game room.
Please let me know if you need advice on alternative solutions or configurations!
You're connecting two gadgets—a hotspot device and a connected device—to enjoy the game. This setup should function properly!
Sure, I appreciate your response. I can provide you with outcomes within three months if you're interested, as that's when I plan to proceed. Thank you!
