Playing on Hyperthreading technology
Windows treats Hyper-Threads as logical cores. Even if your CPU has four physical cores and eight threads, Windows interprets it as an eight-core processor. This allows the task scheduler to distribute software threads across each core. Games benefit from Hyper-Threading since they operate within the same framework that Windows uses. Generally, there aren't significant advantages in games because their logic isn't heavily threaded.
