Can the Minecraft Java Edition run on Windows 10 Edition Pocket Servers? I’m facing a problem where one rig is having trouble with Windows 10, while two others are running Windows 10. Since Java Edition can be costly, I need to confirm if one PC can handle Java and play alongside the Windows 10 version. This is for a few kids at a customer’s place, and I’m not playing the game myself.

Sorry, that's not possible. The Pocket Edition client and server are built in C++, making them more similar to the console version in terms of code structure. Each edition works only with its own type—Java desktop client connects to a Java server, while Pocket Edition connects to a Pocket server. They aren't compatible across different editions.

Try a compatible version or a newer OS that supports Win7, like Windows 8 or 10 with the right setup. For Pocket Servers, consider using lightweight clients or virtual machines.

The app is a UWP application, not a standard program. Running it requires a compatible operating system, unlike typical apps that work universally. Minecraft isn't simply ported; it's based on mobile code, which adds complexity.

It works on Win10 Edition, but I need to support Java Edition too, otherwise I’m facing a major challenge in stabilizing the unstable version.

These three are available on the latest C++ "Bedrock Edition" system, whereas Java runs on an older setup. However, it remains current until the transition to Bedrock for Windows 10 happens.

They mentioned that the pocket, console, and Windows 10 editions work together since they share the same C++ code across platforms. The Java version stands apart and can't connect with the others.

It seems you're looking for a way to bypass limitations on a Windows 10 machine that doesn't support booting from Windows 7. Essentially, you're trying to explore alternatives or workarounds.

Is this related to driver problems? This could be a tough situation if the device isn't supported and drivers for all Windows 10 versions are missing. Certain Intel processors with built-in imagination tech GPUs are unable to function properly on older Windows 10 releases (1507, 1603, 1607). Consider updating to Windows 1607 if your system uses one of these chips—Intel Atom (Clover Trail, Z2500, Z2700 series). Windows 1607 remains a unique option and will continue receiving Microsoft assistance through 2023. It's also the first Windows 10 version that supports the UWP edition of Minecraft.
