Playing many games often causes stuttering.
Playing many games often causes stuttering.
I shared a thread earlier but have refreshed everything. (On mobile I couldn't locate the option to remove old posts.) Here are some logs:
1. IGNORE
2. Bright Memory - Stuttering Messes
3. Gta V - About 2 stutters compared to smooth
4. Dying Light - Minimal stutters
5. Metal Gear Phantom pain - No stutters

I didn’t focus on the details. Thanks for the info. CPU is a Ryzen 7 2700x, stock cooler, GPU is an EVGA RTX 2070, RAM is two 8GB DDR4 at 3000MHZ. Motherboard is ASUS Prime X470 Pro, PSU is Corsair RM850X. I’m not sure if that matters much. I saw my CPU temperature rise to 45°C and then up to 56°C even when idle. Thought it handled auto OC, but the spikes are still there.
It's strange that GTA V runs so seamlessly. I've been testing it for a while now. I'm using Redux and Next Gen Shader 2.0, which must be adding some strain to the components. It's quite surprising that other games lag. I found out that the Outer Worlds game pass edition caused issues, making it nearly unplayable. It would even stutter when shooting enemies. No Man's Sky seems to have the same problem during exploration, while Dying Light runs smoothly except when dealing with zombies. It appears the performance issues might be linked to particle effects.
I selected the Unistall and restart feature. That worked fine. (Other choices mentioned damaging hardware or a black screen, so I stayed safe.) I downloaded the latest driver install (not GeForce Experience) and turned off WiFi completely, which prevented any installations. I’ll try it out and report back. The CPU temperatures are normal. I also replaced some GPUs over time, switching from a 970 to a 1060 and now to a 2070. I’m hoping this improves things. Update 1 – GTA hasn’t stuttered and loaded much quicker. Benchmarks show a 4% increase in gaming speed and a 15% boost in workbench performance.
Check the log file this time. It helps identify the FPS issues. The stream doesn’t display a log, but it highlights stuttering in State Of Decay 2. Recording stopped briefly, yet the problem persists. GTA V and Destiny 2 run smoothly. State of Decay 2 and Bright Memory continue to stutter. Dying Light occasionally stutters at the first minute. The screenshot below shows my GPU usage dropping to 2% during State of Decay 2. This is concerning and unclear—seems to happen in specific games. If it matters, I’m using just one HDD for storage. Could a full HDD cause stutter? Maybe even a damaged drive? re91pqz_d.webp
