Playing Half Life 2 Episode Two, something goes wrong and you crash.
I am having trouble with HL2 Episode 2. Here is my computer setup: DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 running at 2666 MHz (8 cores), an Asus P5KR motherboard, and graphics from ATI Radeon HD 3850 running on a CPU named Bearlake P35. I have 4 GB of RAM and connected to the internet via Gigabit LAN. While playing, I see this error message: "the instruction at 0x15f48f3f referenced memory at 0x0e59f3c0 but could not read it." I tried lowering graphics settings and reinstalling drivers, but nothing worked yet. Maybe someone else has the same problem? What can I do to fix this?
That glitch hit many players back then and got fixed a few months ago, but now only if you play an old version or if they brought it back! You can try lowering details all the way down to avoid that guy in the corridor because he looks like a dead civilian. Or just keep checking up on the ceiling or wall so they aren't showing up as rendered models.
Check out the Steam website again and refresh the game, that will probably solve it.
You might need Steam up to keep things fresh for your games, just like an automatic check-in before you play again. I've never had issues with that because I always make sure it's running and getting updates.
Next time you have questions about Valve or other Steam games, head over to the forums at steampowered.com. It's a big place where people love asking these kinds of questions and they're ready to help. Probably, someone else has already answered it on that page.
I had this same problem as most people. Someone said there was an issue with how things looked right then... The fix is to fire your shotgun at the web, then crouch down, turn to the right, and walk left until you pass the net! This trick might not work on the very first try, so try doing it a few times. I did that, and it worked for me!
Hey guys! Have any of you ever gotten the game character stuck? This happened when I was playing Episode 2! It happens if you try to get the Larval Extract from a vortigaunt. You need to go up an elevator on the left while fighting ants and zombies. When the elevator reaches the top, it just sits there and won't move down. Back then, I had to restart my game after each save point and that fixed it. But now, when I try it at the White Forest base, something is different. Once you get into the room where Eli is working, once the cheap chat ends and he walks toward the gate control saying "It seems like they're competing for grant money," his character freezes completely and won't move again. This isn't the first time I've tried it; I finished this game before and had the same issue back then. But when I try to resume now, it doesn't work anymore either! Any tips? Please let me know what you think!
