Hello, I'm new the forum. I tried all the troubleshooting I could but every time I alt-tab on GTA 5 I get massive stutterings. Nothing is being maxed out. I really don't want to disable SLI or go into windowed borderless, if anyone can help that would be great! Also GTA 5 is the only game that does this. My system: i7 4790k 8gb RAM 2x 980ti's 1tb HDD (game is stored on this) 120gb SSD

The issue with windowed borderless lies in its design, as it can cause visual inconsistencies or performance problems. Switching to a fully windowed or borderless layout may resolve these concerns.

That’s exactly how GTA really is, honestly—it’s just poorly optimized for PC at times. Sometimes the best approach is to cut down on where you spend your time.

I don't own a Razer surround, just a Razer Synapse setup.

At 1080P resolution, turn off SLi. If you have two 980Ti cards at that resolution, you need a strong upgrade.

No way, I wouldn't even consider streaming in 1080p with two 980Ti GPUs. I stick to 4K.

I discovered a workaround that seems to help. Turning off hyperthreading in GTA 5 allows using alt+tab occasionally, though it can cause issues if RAM is reached. At that point, the game stutters. When restricted to 5.5GB, it runs smoothly, whereas with full hyperthreading it uses more memory. Disabling it further reduces usage to 5.5-6.8GB, while normally it's around 6.8-7.2GB.
