3 intakes and 1 exhaust are in place. Air is drawn in from the front while exhaust is expelled behind the CPU.
This indicates you're getting more airflow than being pushed out, which can lead to residual hot air. It's not a major issue but might slightly raise temperatures. I'd suggest running the exhaust fan at a higher speed than the intake fans, or boost all fans for a bit better circulation.
Do you play games with the X series? What temperatures do you experience? I’m used to warm environments—my old Intel PC handled it fine, and now this one is running comfortably too.
You own a X series and are playing? What temperatures do you experience? I’m used to warm environments—my old Intel PC ran smoothly even at higher temps. The stock cooler barely kept things under control, but it worked fine with an Intel chip. I currently have a 3600 and would prefer a better cooler like the Hyper 212. The standard heat sink isn’t doing much, especially in moderate cold rooms. I overclocked it slightly and hit a snag at higher temps. Right now I reach about 4.3 cores per core with the NH-U12S. You might want to reapply the paste and ensure the processor is securely mounted—tighten the screws properly. If that doesn’t resolve the issues, consider getting a Hyper 212 EVO; it should fix the problems. The original heat sink is really inadequate—they removed the copper core (see link). If you can afford it, I found a link to the NH-U12S on Amazon. It’s more expensive but offers better performance. There are other choices too, like a black version of both models. Let me know if this helps!
I spend a lot of time gaming. I tried Metro Exodus today with ray tracing at full settings, my CPU cooler adjusted for quiet operation, and I stayed under 65°C. I own a Hyper 212 Evo cooler, though. It cost around $35 and was a long wait. It’s been quite the challenge to set up.
