Hey everyone,
I've been trying to gently introduce my girlfriend to gaming, but it's been a bit tricky. She suffers from severe motion sickness, so first-person games aren't an option. She's also completely new to video games, so anything simple wouldn't be too much for her—though "A Hat in Time" was a bit overwhelming.
Currently, we're playing Lego Harry Potter, which she enjoys. After that, I'd like to explore something different—maybe start with some easy 2D platformers that involve co-op play. We've played Shovel Knight, but it was a bit rushed (she needs to learn button controls and isn't yet comfortable with gamepads).
I know it's a lot to ask, but do you have any ideas? Any tips or experiences beyond other Lego titles?
Thanks!

Trine is the first thing that comes to mind, even though I didn't play it myself—it's a 2D-style puzzle platformer.

Not a great idea, but I believe her motion sickness would be a problem. She seems a little dizzy after about 45 minutes of playing Lego Harry Potter, so Minecraft might not be the best choice.
Fun fact, I haven't played Minecraft before. I own two Raspis, which should help...

Minecraft doesn't cause motion sickness, just a little survival might help.

Trine seems stylish. It would have been better to note that the local Coop would be ideal, especially due to budget considerations.
That's a solid suggestion. I believe she might be able to handle it.

It seems like you're considering connecting the Pi to a monitor to observe its behavior.

This indie game features a distinctive art style and progresses from straightforward to more intricate gameplay. Played in two dimensions, players assume various roles such as flying, shooting, or shielding. The game is designed to be challenging for beginners but offers an interesting difficulty curve. It supports two-player modes and emphasizes cooperative teamwork.
