Hi everyone, I'm planning to assemble a new PC for gaming and work in a server chassis, trying to keep it as far from my office as possible. I'm looking for a motherboard with Thunderbolt 3 support and the ability to pass displays. I'll connect my PC to a Thunderbolt 4 dock using a Corning Thunderbolt 3 cable. I haven't finalized the exact parts yet, but I have a general idea: will it work smoothly like a regular gaming PC in front of me, or will performance drop? Assuming I use an RTX 4070 Ti with a 2k 144Hz monitor, will the Thunderbolt setup affect my gaming experience? Won't I notice any lag or stutter? Also, can my PC wake up from sleep mode if I connect peripherals to the dock? Thanks in advance!

shouldn't affect performance much (probably not at all). this sounds like the exact setup linus uses at home. if everything is configured right, you won't even notice you're on a dock.
