Jay shared a video about those guys. I feel uneasy thinking I spent a lot of money on my gaming PC for 60fps at 1080p... Why do I need a Titan X for that? With 30 bugs each month?! Check out his site: http://www.leapcomputing.com. I’m curious if this is limited to the USA and want to invite my console friends if it’s reliable. I’m really skeptical but still considering it.
It seems to be launching in the US first. If it works, the possibilities are endless.
The guess is that it is US-only, or at least should be US only because of server location. It seems odd on the surface, but realistically it has a point. Jay mentioned in his video about it that it would take three years alone to pay for the TITAN X, so I wouldn't say it's a bad deal at all given they upgrade their hardware every now and then. I don't see any glaring reason however to have it, and therefore I won't buy.
I fully agree with this feeling. I wish my powerful setup was close by, not far away in a small rack.
I'm not sure if the information is shared with viewers or if they visited the website at leap computing. This isn't just about gaming; you can also edit videos and render images there. I plan to use it for that because my setup is sufficient for 1440p games on an i5 4690k and GTX 970. You might say there are more powerful CPUs for editing, but at about $35 a month, I can afford hardware costing over $2000. Plus, I think the code could let me get free updates once new GPUs are released—though I haven't confirmed from leap computing yet, Jay suggested it.
