Hello, your recent purchase of the RTX 3050 caused blurry visuals at 1080p despite working well at 1440p and 1080p on a 1440p monitor. Using an AMD RX550, you experienced similar issues with Fortnite at 1080p. It seems other users with the RTX 30 series face the same problem. You can try updating drivers or checking for GPU compatibility settings to see if that resolves it. Also, ensure your display settings match what your games recommend.

You likely used DDU to remove AMD drivers prior to installing NVIDIA drivers. When windowed borderless is enabled, it may appear slightly blurry.

I ran AMD Cleanup and verified the image remains clear in a borderless window. Image enhancement significantly improved quality. Simply enabling it makes the picture much sharper at 1080p.

I’d still try another pass with DDU to verify. I’ve faced problems with AMD Cleanup only on certain AMD swaps, not just AMD to Nvidia. DDU appears reliable and consistently delivers the expected outcomes after switching between those chips. It might be worth checking if enabling GPU scaling (toggle it on/off in NV-Control Panel) could resolve any scaling issues your TV is experiencing.

The display remains unclear due to the borderless window setting. I'll attempt using DDU. It prevents GPU scaling. I'm using PC mode on the TV, which is active.

I've faced problems with incorrect frame rates before. It was frustrating when a 59Hz display looked terrible and a 60Hz one worked fine. It doesn't really make sense to me, and I haven't experienced this with another screen, though. Still, I own the TV, which is from 2009—my first flat-screen I bought for my PS3.

This television is nearly a year and a half old, running at 60 Hertz, yet it displays 59.94 in certain controls. It seems the issue might be related to the TV itself, especially with 1440p settings. Image upscaling at 1080p gives a native appearance, but at 1080p resolution it looks blurry. It worked well with an AMD GPU before. I reinstalled the drivers and cleaned the system using DDU. The results are still uncertain, but I haven’t had time to test today. I need to check SOTR next—its performance was poor in 1080p, so I’ll uninstall it again. Some users with RTX 30 series models reported similar problems at 1080p, while others without the RTX 20 series didn’t. I’ll let you know once I try it again. Thanks for your help!

I've reviewed your 3070 setup and confirmed there are no issues with blurriness at 1080p. It's not something that typically occurs, though it can happen occasionally. Have you revisited the scaling settings? Also, adjust "override dpi scaling" in both the game and Steam executables to "application" if needed. Consider disabling "full screen optimization" and avoid playing in windowed mode—it usually causes blurriness and stuttering. (It doesn’t look blurry now, does it?) Lastly, look into motion blur options within the game settings, as it can make visuals appear very blurry, especially at higher resolutions like 1440p. Switching from Windowed to Exclusive Fullscreen makes a big difference, especially without image upscaling. I plan to test tomorrow using DPI scaling override. Previously, I adjusted scaling only in the Nvidia Control Panel. Will "image upscaling" affect performance? It seems like a smart move in the Nvidia panel. All these adjustments and driver reinstalls are really helpful. Thanks!

yeah, thats because its exclusive full screen , most games don't have that. Thats why you need to set the dpi scaling to "application" so the game handles the dpi scaling instead of windows. its not image upscaling in this case, check my picture, its exactly one setting you need to change , in the STEAM exe *and* the Game exe. ^it even tells u it might look blurry (if set wrong) Only if its already set like this you need to also "disable fullscreen optimization" (same thing, youre simply trying to give control to the game instead of windows) Nope, you need to do as in my screenshots(right click the exe), this is a windows setting not a Nvidia setting. Nvidia upscaling only makes it blurrier, thats what "image upscaling" does and its not related in any way to dpi scaling. You shouldn't need to change anything in Nvidia settings, the default is fine usually.
