Playing games on my MacBook Pro?
Your 13-inch 2016 MacBook Pro comes with Intel Iris Graphics 540 and 8 GB of RAM. It seems games from around 2005 should work just fine, though I’m not entirely sure. I’m aware of external GPU cases, but they’re usually quite pricey.
It's true, your MacBook performs just like any other Intel-powered laptop from that time, though it falls short in comparison.
Some titles such as War Thunder, World of Tanks/Warships, and Star Trek Online work well when using simple rendering engines. Running them on Windows via Bootcamp improves performance too. Most Valve games are compatible without issues. You should be able to enjoy nearly any Valve title smoothly.
This video matches the exact MacBook Pro model I own, with identical specifications. While I don’t need to play those games, it makes me think about how older titles would perform on that machine. I’m okay as long as they run smoothly in 1080p at more than 30 frames per second. Need some game suggestions?
Looking for past titles that work smoothly in 1080p with a minimum of 30 frames per second on your MacBook Pro? I’m thinking games released around ten years ago that still run well.
Running games smoother works best with installing boot camp Windows and adding extra titles beyond Mac OS Rocketer, CSGO Dota 2, Call of Duty, Overwatch, StarCraft, Metal Gear, and the older versions of Gear. You might also try Geforce Now, GTA San Andreas, Tomb Raider.
I'm a Linux gamer who often plays with Mac users in the company of Heroes 2 multiplayer. It seems that feral can't get cross-platform ports for Windows. I've noticed Mac players running the game on 2012 MacBooks, but it runs poorly on their machines. Lol
