Take a look at Wendell's guide for Ubunutu – it should work well with 18.04 too. There’s plenty of help available for Ubuntu as well. By the way, if you don’t like the terminal on OpenSUSE, its point-and-click setup is a better fit. For science projects I mainly used manual configuration through pointing and clicking. The /r/VFIO community has also created some useful tools – check out their Discord.
