I've been working to improve the frame rate in this game for most of the year. I've checked every FPS guide available and still can't pinpoint why my game maintains an average of 40-65 FPS. I suspect it's a software problem, but I haven't found the cause. I'm open to help and even willing to pay if you can fix it. Your system specs are: MSI Trident X003 9th gen Intel Core i7-9700K with 8 cores, 3.6-4.9 GHz, 12MB cache, 16GB DDR4 at 2666MHz (single channel), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 at 8G GDDR6 (MSI Ventus version) with 650W power, 80 Plus Gold.

Using dual channel mode typically improves performance by utilizing two memory sticks simultaneously.

I understand the game is still in beta, and many viewers on platforms like 2080 are experiencing smooth 120fps gameplay.

Yeah, using dual-channel memory will boost your FPS a bit, but not a lot. The game is still in beta and behaves differently after each update. Another important factor is the resolution you're using. Are you playing at 1080p or 1440p? That would help me understand better as I keep playing EFT regularly.

1440p resolution confirmed. I understand, though the current frame rate is 40 fps with CPU and GPU loads under 70%. My GPU typically runs at about 40% utilization.

During beta testing, optimization remains limited, leading to occasional performance hiccups. This explains the reduced CPU and GPU utilization since the system isn’t yet fully refined. Some FPS guides are only a short time old but still offer positive feedback; it’s crucial to adhere strictly to the latest patch instructions. Even older resources may not be reliable. Switching to dual-channel memory can help boost frame rates, delivering smoother 60fps to 70fps ranges and consistent performance at higher resolutions. For top-tier results—such as 100+ FPS—playing at 1080p is likely necessary, especially with high refresh rate displays. Many streamers use 1080p monitors at full refresh rates, not just 1440p. Even with custom configurations on a 12.7GHz processor and 3090 graphics card, achieving 120fps at 1440p remains challenging. My average frame rate across maps is around 90–100 FPS. I haven’t tested these guides yet, but they generally work for most users. Your computer’s memory setup might also play a role; issues like cooling or thermal throttling could affect stability. Make sure your system is configured for maximum performance—CPU and GPU should run at full capacity, with the CPU in power-saving mode and the GPU in NVIDIA control settings.

I followed these guides and saw a big boost in performance for a few games, but then the extra frames stopped improving. Switching to 1080 didn’t help much (just a small gain of 0-6 FPS) and there’s no throttling issue. Here’s a setup like mine that’s giving double the FPS.

Would you prefer a bundle of two 8GB RAM sticks at 3200MHz over an additional 16GB at 2666MHz?
