Hello, I stream using Stream Labs. While playing Elden Ring at high settings I consistently get smooth 60FPS and 1440p without issues, streaming causes a drop to 30FPS even when I switch to low settings or 1080p. It seems the problem isn’t my GPU. I also saw online discussions suggesting that Elden Ring uses just one CPU thread, which could be limiting performance if Stream Labs isn’t configured to utilize multiple threads. With your specs—i5 10600k, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM—it’s worth checking if adjusting the streaming settings or selecting different CPU thread options might help.

Similar to 30.0 consistently or does it change and by what extent? This is relevant since frame caps are often set at 30 or 60. It’s also useful to check the video card’s performance—if it’s maintaining 30fps below 99%, there could be a bottleneck. Edited August 9, 2022 by Bombastinator

The frame rate changes based on location and scene complexity. Outside the world it can reach up to 40 FPS, but may drop again and settle around 35 FPS depending on the number of objects. Inside the game it stays steady at about 30 FPS, though it often dips to 20 FPS. The graphics card performance remains between 50-70% during streaming and not streaming, with streaming usually showing a higher percentage.

It seems the issue is related to Wi-Fi strength. Achieving a stable 60% connection might require connecting with an Ethernet cable.

You're already subscribed to a cable service, but your connection might be struggling. Your current speeds are 63.67 Mbps downloading and 29.65 Mbps uploading.

I used to have cable internet. In my area they divided the network into subnets covering entire neighborhoods. This means if a neighbor starts spamming, it could impact you too. Does this change depending on the time of day? If so, the main issue is the limited Wi-Fi access.

I'm not sure about switching locations, the router is about 2-3 meters away and I'm already using cable. This 30fps issue mainly appears when streaming. When I launch the game and play in open world or fight a boss, it runs smoothly at 60fps. But once I click the Start Stream button, the stream drops sharply to around 30fps.
