I purchased Destiny 2 yesterday to play with a friend. My GPU usage remains consistently under half, and I’m seeing around 30-40 FPS on average, dropping to about 20 during intense combat. My R9 280X isn’t the top-tier model, but it’s not performing poorly either. I checked online forums and found others facing similar issues, but no clear fixes were available. Have anyone else tried anything? My drivers are up to date, and my CPU isn’t limiting performance.

Try increasing the parameters and observe the results. Turn on MSAA.

I adjusted the settings and noticed my FPS remained stable, though I experienced significant input lag, making it feel like my performance was poor. I didn’t check the usage stats, so I’ll test it now and let you know the outcome.

Outdated GPU issue... possible compatibility problems. If you want to run the newest game, start with DDU in safe mode and update AMD's latest drivers.

I enjoy every new installment, but Destiny 2 has some unusual issues. A 970 will arrive soon, which should help improve things.

I also attempted to lower it to 720p, but it didn’t really help much—it felt strange and didn’t change much.

This concerns the considerations developers use while building their games, not your personal performance. The GTX 970 should resolve any problems you encounter.

Your GPU usage decreases significantly when switching tabs, returning close to zero, while during gameplay it remains high as you move around.

Sure, I just wanted to try out Destiny before it came, but I think I'll hold off or handle the rough FPS instead.
