You’ve created an unusual configuration. I’m curious how you handle this situation. The setup involves using a high-end GPU with an older laptop, and the system runs on a relatively modern motherboard with AV1 support. It seems like you’re trying to push the limits of what the hardware can manage.

6900XT lacks an AV1 encoder; it features a decoder only, and even that requires CPU usage.

Ensure it's not attempting to encode AV1 for compatibility with the RX 6900 XT.

The 6700hq requires too much processing power to ensure smooth playback.

AV1 encoding for playback is widely supported across most platforms, making it straightforward to implement.

It seems you're questioning the role of the GPU in processing AV1 videos. You're asking about encoding details, resolution, and playback tools. Clarify your setup and goals for a more precise response.

It appears there remains some uncertainty about the distinction between playback and encoding. Playback has long been available for nearly all devices—smart TVs, Chromecasts, FireSticks, desktops, laptops—making it easy today. Encoding, on the other hand, is quite different; while CPU-based methods like AV1 encoding exist, they demand specialized hardware such as Intel Arc, RTX 4000 or RX7000 GPUs.

It seems you're referencing a specific video file format and encoding details. The file is likely a high-resolution (4K), AV1-encoded MP4 with AOMEnc compression, two-pass processing, and constant quality settings. You're playing it in Kodi version 20.1.
