Recently I set up my PC and immediately realized I wasn’t achieving the desired FPS. I expected smoother performance in League of Legends, but I only managed 150-250 FPS, which was surprising given the benchmarks I saw. After some research, I noticed my FPS in other games matched expectations, while GPU and CPU tests were positive. However, in League of Legends my performance is poor, especially during intense matches like CS:GO at full settings or team fights in League on max. I tried reinstalling the game and drivers, reached out to the support team, but they couldn’t help. I also read about how League uses just a few CPU cores, but the Ryzen 9 5900X should be sufficient. Seeing similar issues online, I’m worried about buying a new CPU and its impact on my gaming experience.

It might be the engine, since I experienced the same problem with FarCry 6.

That's a game problem not a GPU problem https://www.metabomb.net/leagueoflegends...:text=We’d recommend playing with a frame rate cap of 144%2C as League isn’t well optimised to handle the uncapped option. This’ll keep your FPS within 144 at all times%2C and if you’re not reaching this upper limit%2C you can always set a lower cap - as long as it’s within 60 FPS.

Notice those games are quite old, yet they remain two distinct titles. In terms of 150fps in Teamfight, it's more than what you typically require for that game. As for my certainty, gaining an additional 50 frames won't significantly boost your advantage over others—otherwise, you'd need more than just extra frames in League shooters to gain an edge.
