I recently purchased an MSI GTX 1070 8G and noticed my frame rates were low. My GTX 970 burned down but I still had warranty, so I upgraded to the 1070. In games like Grand Theft Auto V, my FPS dropped below 60 at times. Some communities said GTA V is quite demanding on the CPU, suggesting my processor might be the issue, while others recommended an i5 4460 could handle it. I didn’t overclock and updated all drivers. What’s going on? Could it be something other than my CPU?
Your current frame rate is indeed lower compared to when you used 970 under identical configurations.
How much below 60 FPS are you experiencing, and at what interval? Have you observed similar problems in other titles? It's common for GTA V to dip slightly under 60 due to CPU performance, but I don't anticipate it being a major concern or frequent occurrence.
I previously played Rocket League on three monitors with my 970, but now using a 1070 it runs slower than before. In games like GTA 5 my FPS hovers between 50 and 60, sometimes dropping to 40. Battlefield 4 and 1 perform well at around 80 FPS, while other titles are mostly stable. Everything seems fine—my motherboard and CPU appear unaffected by the fire.
