Playing Android games on Linux isn't feasible.
The sole reason I’m thinking about using Windows again is because I miss playing certain Android games I got into in the past (I really invested a lot of time in it). I’ve checked out the available choices, but some aren’t true emulation which restricts your options, while others aren’t focused on gaming. A gaming Android emulator should offer adjustable controls, but finding those on Linux is tough. Is it really impossible to play Android games on Linux?
these are the choices available: purchase an Android device or use a Windows emulator, which isn't limited to just Windows because tools like Wine and Proton exist.
Lots of simple games struggle to function smoothly on them, and you're wondering how a complex program could possibly work there. I haven't tested Proton yet, but Wine doesn't handle many sophisticated apps well, especially those that rely on lower-level components.
It's not about whether it's cutting-edge, but rather the libraries and API calls it requires. I checked the details and it looks like most popular emulators struggle there, though that isn't always certain. You shouldn't ignore it without exploring or researching it further.
I'm not clear on the gaming features you're asking about. Avoiding tools like Key Mapper is fine; development has largely ceased, but it might still function. https://github.com/keymapperorg/KeyMapper Waydroid seems to be the top choice for Linux instead of Genymotion (which I haven't used but has a Linux version).
Execute Android-x86 inside a virtual machine. The total cost between host and guest stays under Windows OOTube levels, provided you don’t enable all features in NoobOS.
