My purchase of the GPU feels like a classic meme. I'm still upset about it today. After installing uPlay and realizing the code had expired, I was eager to start playing an Assassin's Creed title.

It's disappointing, but it seems you're the only one to face this issue.

You can turn on the code on any computer by signing in with your account. Once you complete setting up your PC, the game will be available in your account. It’s really simple—just review the details and note the expiration date.

Thanks Obama, acknowledging Ubisoft. In the president's defense, a game code expiring quickly for a major AAA title within just a few years—or not at all—is really problematic. He might have made a mistake, but I don't blame him entirely. A friend of mine experienced the same situation.

I realized I could have turned it on on any computer, but I was using Linux Ubuntu on my Mac at that time. I wasn't even certain uPlay would work there, let alone knowing the expiration date was just under 30 days. And I'm in agreement with Gravemind.

Game codes are designed to stop piracy. Once you receive a code, use it quickly. This is widely understood.

I used to play on consoles and always kept physical copies, never going digital.

Certainly, but it only targets the virtuous more than the real rogues. I’m not keen on a lengthy discussion about this, so let’s just accept it’s a terrible scenario.

I wasn't attempting anything, just that I don't appreciate how it functions.

Absolutely. Others refer to me as outdated for sticking with old methods, but at least physical media doesn’t lose quality over time.
