Players face challenges on the blackboard during games when displayed at lower resolutions.
When I’m not at home and my main rig is off, I often try to play on my laptop. The issue keeps appearing: the game fills the entire screen with massive black bars. With a 3200x1800 display and an integrated graphics card (probably an HD 4500), I adjust the game settings to 1600x900 for better performance. But the problem persists—only the center area shows up, leaving the rest dark. On my small 13.3" monitor, this makes it feel like I’m playing on a phone-sized screen. One solution is to set the whole machine’s resolution to 1600x900 so the game fills the display, but that disrupts my home screen and is frustrating to reset each time. Is there another way to balance keeping my full desktop while letting games scale properly? Thanks.
It rarely occurred on my previous machine (the only time I needed a non-native res was when it automatically increased resolution to cover the entire screen). The aspect ratio stayed consistent, so the issue remains unclear.
Navigate to the Intel driver settings and adjust the scaling option since your monitor lacks an internal scaler.
