The 940M isn't ideal for gaming or modern AAA games, even though it's from NVIDIA. It doesn't perform well with current high-end titles.

It doesn't work with my laptop (965m and 6500u). It functions smoothly on all low 1600x900 displays at 40-60% brightness in cities.

There isn't a laptop with exactly those specifications, but you're likely thinking of the older Alienware 13. It was known for its high-end performance and had a 9.8 GHz processor and 965 MHz memory.
