There are several strong single-player titles available, such as Witcher 2, Kotor 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and the Deus Ex series.

Experience a deep narrative in the Death March setting. Few games match this storytelling depth. I felt a strong Witcher 3 connection while just playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey for two hours.

Consider titles such as Nier:Automata. Keep in mind you must experience the narrative at least three times (from various perspectives). The second viewpoint offers a contrasting angle, while the third presents an entirely different interpretation. Other ideas include PlayStation 4 releases like God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn, which has a compelling story but can feel repetitive at times. Also, Final Fantasy series—XII, XIII, XV—generally lag behind their earlier entries in quality.

These classic RPGs deliver a powerful narrative experience reminiscent of Witcher 3, offering freedom to choose any character without being limited by strict moral guidelines. StarCraft 1 and Brood War stand out as exceptional storytelling in the gaming world, with remasters available. StarCraft 2 falls short compared to its predecessors. If you prefer an ARPG, Fallout: New Vegas provides varied experiences with each playthrough.

JRPGs offer rich experiences if you're seeking depth. FF VII stands out as a timeless classic. Tales of the Abyss excels in character growth. Grandia I&II delivers compelling narratives too (though I haven't played Grandia III). Vindictus is highly recommended for its thrilling storyline in a dungeon-crawler setting.

Ew. Honestly I appreciate ME:2 more... especially Mirandas back story. What an amazing backstory, although it's almost too much back story. Witcher 2 was pretty decent. Hated Witcher 1 for the same reason I hate Dragon Age. The 2 newer Deus Ex games were pretty great, but the originals are far too clunky for me to enjoy without nostalgia goggles. HZD had some good intrigue and even story, but it's pretty hidden inside texts, story missions, and behind frankly average characters. Gameplay is pretty solid though, and sound design and graphics are insanely good.

I can't fathom why anyone would consider Life Is Strange valuable beyond its appealing indie hipster vibe.
