Playback, why aren’t you functioning? Playback replay unavailable.
I understand that others have experienced this problem, and I haven’t discovered a resolution through online discussions. I frequently miss key moments in games like Siege, Rocket League, or Rust – particularly successful plays and funny incidents. While Shadowplay functions perfectly for some titles, allowing me to quickly capture footage with a simple key press, it consistently fails on numerous games, including R6 Siege. Typically, I only realize a replay is unavailable after I’ve already attempted to record something significant, and then I must manually activate Instant Replay. I've ensured my graphics drivers are up-to-date, but I don’t want to repeatedly uninstall and reinstall them. Are there any reliable fixes for this widespread issue? Alternatively, I’d appreciate any recommendations for alternative recording techniques. I occasionally use OBS's replay buffer, but it’s often inconvenient to open an additional program before beginning a game. Sincerely,
Hello, if your game operates in full-screen mode, Shadowplay should function successfully. However, when your game runs in windowed or borderless full-screen display, Shadowplay won’t operate correctly by default. To capture gameplay regardless of the screen mode you are using, you need to make a minor adjustment within Shadowplay’s settings. Launch the Shadowplay overlay and navigate to settings, then scroll down in the context menu and choose “privacy control,” finally, activate “desktop capture.”
Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me. I typically enjoy all games with my display set to full-screen. I examined the Shadowplay options within the overlay as you suggested, but wasn’t able to locate any privacy settings—however, this may not be relevant given that I only use full-screen.
Your advice is appreciated.
