I've just completed my new PC setup. The problem is that my audio cuts out mostly when the system is busy. It looks like the sound meant to play during interruptions gets merged and plays quickly once the interruption ends. These interruptions last around 1-2 seconds and happen more often during gaming or downloads. I'm using a wireless headset with a USB dongle running Windows 11 Pro. I noticed the video playback is also affected—sometimes it doesn't stop properly. When listening to Spotify, the progress bar keeps going even after the song ends, so it reaches the end before the track finishes. It just hangs there afterward.

Check your CPU temperatures when it's not running and when it's under stress. Low temps are normal, but overheating can lead to throttling.

It appears your computer is heavily limited by its CPU, lacking sufficient processing power. You might want to try: launch Task Manager, go to the "Details" section, identify the program causing strain, click the 6th option at the top, and uncheck at least one processor to ensure your music player has enough idle threads.

I really question this, since I upgraded from an i5 4570 to a Ryzen 9 7900x. With fewer apps running now and temperatures staying between 50 to 70°C, it seems unlikely.

It seems unusual, but it shouldn't lead to stability problems.

Consider using the audio jack or Bluetooth on the motherboard. It might be an issue with the dongle itself.

Thank you for your assistance, but it appears the problem has been resolved nicely. Have you attempted to turn it off and on? I've been listening. Appreciate the effort. And sorry for taking your time.
