Looking for effective free typing challenges? Your current WPM is about 45, and you struggle with key-switching tasks. You're seeking a focused game rather than casual word games like Typeracer.

I woke up around 48 in January, but my typing speed has improved lately. I’m curious if I can reach over 50 now.

I noticed you mentioned it, but I won't include that word in your message.

I play CS:GO or LoL, where you focus on the game without needing to type much.

The concept of Typing of the Dead comes to mind first. I noticed several free online versions available. Edit: Also learned positive feedback about using http://www.keybr.com/ for learning purposes. It's not a game, but rather a tool to help you study.

Typeracer really made a difference for me. At the beginning, my speed was about 70 WPM on average. Now I’m averaging around 110, with peaks reaching up to 135. Just a note—don’t go for it unless you stay consistent.

Previously I was 87 words per minute and English isn't my native language either; I also have dyslexia. Just type a lot, helpful information on the forums is great. Typing games are mainly for comparing with friends, which isn’t really useful for learning. Of course it helps a bit, but you need to spend a lot of time typing to improve. Eventually they’ll get boring and annoying.

Actually, I misled you. My typing speed is about 3487 words per minute, even though I lack arms and legs. I don’t speak English, my keyboard isn’t working, and I’m blind!
