Play Steam on a distinct NVMe storage device
Hello, welcome! I'm looking for clarification about NVMe drives. This is my first experience with the new form factor, and I've been using Linux for about five years now. Recently, I purchased two 512GB NVMe drives—one near the CPU and another closer to the chipset. After installing Steam, I tried to find the drive in Steam settings but it wasn't visible. I went to Disk Utility, formatted the drive as ext4, and mounted it manually (the one near the chipset). I've downloaded some games without issues. My question is: do I need to format a new NVMe drive before playing Steam games? Just let me know, I've had no problems so far.
You need to format the drive first before saving any data, and then include the Steam location.
