She’s looking for controller-based games that fit a $10 PS2 clone setup. Since you’re new to controllers, focus on titles that support them well. Games should run smoothly at about 30 FPS on your specs—Ryzen 2200U with Vega 3 GPU and 4GB RAM. Prioritize singleplayer options but are open to multiplayer. Stick to native PC titles or emulators for NES/SNES, as those systems can handle them easily.

I believe all racing games work with controllers, and titles from GTA 3 to 5 include this feature. Most first-person shooters also accommodate it. Generally, anything other than RTS titles or those needing a mouse click should function well.

These are all outstanding titles. What should you choose? ($) offers solid value for money. Over 200 hours of play is a great, efficient experience. Shorter sessions (3–6 hours) can still be enjoyable. Unmarked games are decent but hard to judge. Space Marine (2011) is not recommended. GTA V is a solid pick. Fallout: New Vegas ($) fits the line. Lineage series ($) suits cross-platform play. Mad Max: Fury Road ($) matches the vibe. Shadow of Mordor ($) and Ghost of a Tale ($) are intriguing. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ($) and Metro series ($) are solid. Doom 2016, Doom Eternal ($), Dying Light Borderlands ($), Resident Evil 6 ($), Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (not new order) ($), Red Faction: Reborn Medal of Honor ($), Blood Bowl 2, Darkwood Turok (N64 ports) are worth checking. Star Wars Republic Commando ($) and Skyrim ($) stand out. Metal Gear Solid 5: Haydee (3D Metroid) is a unique take. Fear Cloudberry Kingdom, Oddworld, Killing Floor, and prototype versions are available.

It's worth exploring SuperGiantGames content. Pyre works well with a controller for their gameplay. Bastion seems smoother on a controller as well. Do you know what genres or styles she enjoys—fantasy, realism, sci-fi, or something else?

I’ll add Pyre and Bastion to the list. Since she isn’t a big gamer, I assume she won’t have strong preferences unless it’s something quick to start.
