I’m taking some time off and bringing my Steam Deck along. I might join in on gaming sessions with friends, but certain titles don’t run smoothly on the Deck because of cheating detection or other issues. If they do work, you often have to use unusual methods which I’m not interested in trying. That’s why game streaming seemed like a good idea. My main concern is latency—streaming services might be closer to my location, while my PC is about 1400 miles away. My PC has a stable connection with only minor delays and no interruptions.

The link you have meets the basic needs for streaming games. However, a stable speed of around 50mb/s is ideal. Otherwise, streaming performance can vary depending on how easily you can save and load data from the service.

It’s mainly going to be online games like Fortnite and Rainbow Six, plus some standard esports experiences. Data saving isn’t crucial, and I should have a solid internet connection.

I'd recommend either NVIDIA or your own setup. Latency should match, but verify that all listed games are compatible with NVIDIA streaming first. Be prepared for a noticeable drop in performance, especially in games with high ping times.

Latency changes based on your location relative to the server, not a fixed number. A common approximation suggests about 1400 miles divided by (c * .6), which equals roughly 12.5 ms. For ping, double that time—around 25 ms for a round trip. Keep in mind these figures are optimistic. They don’t account for servers along the path or network paths with delays from multiple providers and physical obstacles.
